THE Police have released the names of the six persons who were shot and killed during a gun-battle in Denham Town yesterday.

[naviga:li]Romaine Stern, also called ‘Tete Rass’, of a Charles Street address, in his late 20’s. Stern has been listed several times as a person of interest. He was wanted by the police for crimes including murders, shooting with intent and several robberies. ‘Tete Rass’ was seen by the police as one of the main criminal players in the area who recruited other criminals from the general West Kingston area, Southside in Central Kingston, Standpipe in St Andrew Central, Spanish Town and areas of the St Andrew South Division.;[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Shawn Tyrell, also called ‘Chinnie Man’ (25) of an Oxford Street address.  Tyrell was wanted for several crimes including murder, and shooting with intent;[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Karlton Alvaranga, also called ‘Kiro’ and ‘Killer Blacks’ (26) of a Fleet Street address in Central Kingston. He was known to be a leading member of the New World Order gang which operates in the Kingston Eastern and Western Police Divisions. He was involved in a number of murders and shooting incidents;[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]George Edmonson in his mid-sixties and a resident of Bond Street;[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Wesley Simpson in his mid-sixties and a resident of Charles Street; and [/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Niketa Cameron (13 years old) of a Charles Street address. [/naviga:li]

The police say they took all possible precautions to minimise civilian and police casualties.

The cops say at first approach to the criminals who were located on premises at 88 Charles Street, they were met with gunfire. The police say they responded and were engaged by criminals in a running gun fight through several premises and across several streets in the area.

When the smoke cleared, the six persons were fatally shot and two injured. Four weapons were also seized by the Police.
