Cops nab two with ganja at airport
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Officers assigned to the Narcotics Division at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) took a man into custody after he confessed that he had ingested ganja pellets.
The police say the man was taken to hospital for a medical examination on December 1, where he expelled ganja weighing 3.1 pounds.
He has been identified as Jerome Walker, unemployed, of Retirement district in St James. He is to appear before the St Andrew Parish court on December 21.
Meanwhile, on December 2, about 7:15 pm, Kenrick Tugwell, makeup artist of Balmoral Heights, Tower Isle, St Mary, was arrested and charged by the Narcotics Police at the NMIA.
Reports are that the officers were alerted to Tugwell’s bag and when it was searched a false compartment was reportedly found containing compressed ganja weighing 5.5 pounds.
He is to appear before the St Andrew Parish court on January 5, 2017.
