FORMER Jamaica Labour Party Councillor Don Creary appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was denied bail, pending additional charges, in a rape case against him. His co-accused, Shaneke Williams, was granted $1.5-million bail.

Prior to bail, Williams was ordered by Senior Magistrate Simone Wolf-Reece to surrender her travel documents and report to the Constant Spring Police Station.

A stop order was also made against her.

Creary is to return to court on Thursday.

Reports are that another matter of a similar nature is pending against him.

The businessman and Williams, a publicist, were charged last Wednesday in relation to an alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.

Creary was charged with rape, while Williams was charged with aiding and abetting rape, and sexual touching. They were arrested by investigators from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.

The police have alleged that the two took the girl to a dwelling where she was given alcohol and forced to have sex with Creary. However, the location of the alleged act is still unclear, as police investigators have given conflicting information, stating first that it happened in St Mary, then that it occurred in Havendale, St Andrew. The date given was November 2013.

Investigators said that the complainant filed a report of the alleged incident in March 2014, and another on September 3 of this year.
