Crime Stop report helps nab serial rapist
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Private Sector of Jamaica (PSOJ) run Crime Stop Programme says that information received in March has led to the apprehension and charge of an accused serial rapist by the Portmore police.
Arrested is Garfield Anthony Henry, otherwise called ‘Shortman, ‘Neil’, ‘Fire’ or ‘Blacks’, who has been charged with three counts of rape, grievous sexual assault and abduction, Crime Stop reported in a release today.
Henry made his first court appearance on March 18 and faces at least 15 years in prison.
The police believe that there may be other victims who have not yet come forward and urge them to do so as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Crime Stop said that tips received in March also led to the recovery of two illegal 9mm firearms.
