Denham Town lock-up escapee sentenced to six months
KINGSTON, Jamaica — One of the prisoners who cut their way out of the Denham Town Police Station lock-up last September was on Thursday sentenced to six months.
Twenty-three-year-old Theodore Lawrence, otherwise called Theo, of a Slipe Pen Road, Kingston address, was captured in Cross Roads earlier this month.
Lawrence who was charged with murder at the time of his escape, pleaded guilty to escaping custody when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
“Why you escaped custody?” Chief Parish Judge Judith Pusey asked.
“I have two kids,” Lawrence said.
“You have to do six months for this. You are in custody, you don’t run away,” Pusey told the convict.
