Dressmaker dies in car crash
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Fifty-one-year-old Avis Stephenson Whyte, a dressmaker of Middle Quarters, in St Elizabeth, died from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle collision along Charles main road in the parish, today.
Reports from the Black River police are that about 12:30 pm, Stephenson Whyte was a passenger in a Mitsubishi motor vehicle when the driver, reportedly, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree.
Stephenson Whyte and the driver were assisted to hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment. The driver was admitted in stable condition.
The police say investigations are continuing.
