Dunkirk residents attend gospel concert on anniversary of deadly attack
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Residents of McIntyre Villa, also known as Dunkirk, in east Kingston are now gathered at a gospel concert in the spot where, one year ago, a 17-month-old infant and man were murdered.
The gospel concert is being put on by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, in an effort to quell and make it easier for residents to deal with the pain on the anniversary of the deadly attack that left the community very tense.
One resident told OBSERVER ONLINE that she is happy for the police presence in the community and that she believes the community has improved since the incident.
Superintendent Arthur Brown, head of the Kingston Eastern Division thanked the residents for their support and the partnership with the police.
He also gave the undertaking that the police will continue its strong community presence and will work with the people in building their communities.
