Exotic dancer and taxi driver exchange blows in parking lot
KINGSTON, Jamaica – An exotic dancer and a taxi driver who allegedly exchanged blows in the parking lot at a strip club in Kingston, had their bails extended when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Twenty-three-year-old Collen Moyton, a resident of Lincoln Avenue, Kingston 13, and 50-year-old Austin Marley, who is from Allman Town in Kingston, both pleaded not guilty to the charges of unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.
Allegations are that on September 20, both accused were involved in a fracas in the parking lot of a night club on Trinidad Terrance in Kingston.
Reports are that Moyton allegedly used a dancing shoe to hit Austin on his right arm, wounding him. Marley reportedly used a machete to hit Moyton across her back several times.
When they appeared in court, Moyton told the court that she was victimised because of her profession. According to her, she gave Marley her car to operate as a taxi on August 16. She said that Marley owed her $5,500. She added that she asked him to pay her on several occasions and he refused.
“On October 22, I went to the opposite side of his car and asked him for my money. He said, ‘I should come take it’.”
Marley admitted that he owed her the money. He said that he was in the parking lot dropping off her coworker when she approached him for her money. According to him, she threw a beer bottle at him and spat in his face twice.
“I came out of the car and say ‘hey gal, a weh u a do?’ She took out her spike heel and hit mi in my head twice,” he said.
An October 28, mention date was subsequently set, pending an outstanding medical report.
