Experts to find source of ventilation issue at CRH
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The Cornwall Regional Hospital is advising that the ventilation issues, which resulted in a suspension of clinics and outpatient services at the institution yesterday, have been contained.
Although back to normal, the board of directors and management said a decision has been taken to bring in outside expertise to seek out the source of the ventilation problem and deal with it effectively.
In the meantime, Services in Accident and Emergency, Medical Records and Clinics will return to normal as of Thursday. However, the hospital said the Blood Donation Unit is being relocated temporarily to the Infection Control Centre on the grounds of the hospital.
The ventilation problem affected the first, second and third floors of the hospital resulting in only emergency cases being seen in Accident and Emergency yesterday.
