Fenton Ferguson seeks clarity on scope of Southern Coastal Highway
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Member of Parliament for St Thomas Eastern Dr Fenton Ferguson, says that he is shocked at news reports, which gives the impression that an environmental impact assessment study is only being done on the section of the Southern Coastal Highway from Harbour View to Albion in Western St Thomas.
Ferguson said he is therefore asking the Prime Minister, who is the Minister of Economic Growth and Job Creation, for clarity as it relates to the section from Albion to Port Antonio.
He said that any attempt to shortchange the people of St Thomas Eastern and Portland East will not be tolerated and the “full power of the people will be felt”.
Ferguson added that the people of St Thomas and Portland East are urgently awaiting the response of the appropriate authority.
