Gunman shot dead after killing taxi-man

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A gunman was shot dead by a licensed firearm holder just minutes after he robbed and killed a taxi operator along Waltham Park Road in Kingston Wednesday night.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that two men posing as passengers, sometime after 9:00pm attacked and shot taxi driver 57-year-old Eric Stewart, also called Winston, killing him on the spot.

A firearm holder, witnessing the attack, challenged the gunmen and managed to shoot one. The dead gunman has been indentified as 20-year-old Norbert Hunter.

The other gunman reportedly escaped in the taxi.
