Guyana police detain two men for questioning in double murder
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — Police Monday said two men are assisting their investigations into the murders of a poultry dealer and a cattle farmer early Sunday night.
“Two male suspects have been taken into custody and are assisting with the investigation,” the lawmen said in a statement.
Police said cattle farmer Azrudeen Hussain, 24, and 34-year-old Desmond Singh were shot and killed at Humphrey’s Street, Friendship, East Bank Demerara.
Hussain was shot once to the neck and Singh 15 times about his body, by two armed masked men minutes after they had been gamecock gambling at an arena at Friendship.
Police are treating the incident as a “hit” because nothing was stolen from the victims.
