Heavy Mandela Highway traffic as schools reopen
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Mandela Highway, the main thoroughfare that connects the Corporate Area to rural parishes, saw a “heavy” flow of traffic this morning, the start of the 2015/16 academic year.
Dorel Jackson, Inspector at the Ferry Police Station told OBSERVER ONLINE that although the traffic was heavy, it was flowing.
“This is what we anticipated,” he stated as he signalled to motorists. “We have been out from six and traffic has been building up since then.”
The police inspector noted that he expects an increase in traffic as the week progresses adding that not all schools were reopened this morning.
