Holness ‘heartbroken’ after missing 6-y-o boy found dead
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Opposition Leader Andrew Holness today expressed shock and dismay at the death of six-year-old Daniel Anderson. He also condemned the heinous nature of the crime.
Holness said: ” I am heartbroken, just the other day it was a one-year-old baby who was shot and killed alongside his father, today it is a six-year-old child whose body was mutilated. We must stand up and put an end to this! The high incidence of violence being carried out against innocent children is completely unacceptable.”
The Opposition leader extended condolences to young Daniel’s parents and said that he is calling on Jamaicans to look out for the nation’s children, and to ensure they are always protected.
He said in a news release that every single Jamaican must make it their responsibility to keep children out of harm’s way.
He stated: “It cannot be said too many times, our children are our future — we must not destroy our future.”
Holness also urged the police to spare no efforts in ridding the country of dangerous criminals who prey on innocent children.
