Increased rainfall forecast for Jamaica this weekend
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A persistent trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean is expected to produce increased rainfall across the island starting on Saturday afternoon, according to the Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica.
Additionally, a tropical wave now south of Puerto Rico is expected to move across Jamaica on Sunday, resulting in enhanced weather conditions across the island, the Met Service said in a release Friday afternoon.
The Met Service forecast is for periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, to affect sections of all parishes starting Saturday evening through Monday.
