JLP Area Council 4 to hold elections tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Area Council Four will be holding its annual general meeting at Ruseas High School tomorrow.
At the top of the order of business, the party said in a release, is the election of officers for the current year. All positions, including, chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, assistant secretary, and treasurer are up for election.
Senator Charles Sinclair, who is the current chairman, has indicated that he will not be seeking re-election, after holding in the post for three terms.
It is expected that three people, Marissa Dalrymple Philbert, Dennis Meadows, and Daniel Dawes, will be contesting for the position of chairman.
Area Council Four encompasses the parishes of Trelawny, St James, Hanover, Westmoreland and St Elizabeth.
The area makes up nine of the party’s 32 seats in Parliament.
