Jamaican designers in Fashion Week featured on London TV
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican designers Claire Requa and Abenah Gonzalez, participants in the International Fashion Showcase (IFS), were featured on London’s arts and culture programme on ARISE TV on Monday.Arise TV
Requa (Claire Requa Upcycled Jewellery) and Gonzalez (Abenah Adelaide) are two of five emerging fashion designers who were selected to participate in the British Fashion Council’s IFS 2014 from February 12 to 18.
The designers presented their individual collections at a static exhibition initiated by the Jamaica Business Development Corporation, dubbed Threadbare.
Two other Jamaican designers at the show, Simone Nielson and Ayanna Dixon, will be featured on Tuesday on the same programme at UK time 4:00 pm (Jamaica time 12:00 noon). The fifth designer is Dexter Huxtable.
