Labour ministry recruiting IT specialist for overseas jobs
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) says it is seeking to broaden the skills base of its Overseas Employment Programme with the recruitment of Information Technology (IT) specialists to work in North America.
Prospective workers are being sought for job openings in a Virtual Workforce Pilot Programme at Quarrio Corporation; a United States-based software and analytical start-up, the ministry said in a release Friday (December 16).
According to the MLSS, professionals with over three years of experience are being sought as software engineers, with knowledge and experience in machine learning, text mining, NPL, Java/Python, vertical databases, SWS, QA testing, Agile/Scrum, technical writers, IOS Development, open stock development and UI/UX.
Candidates are required to have a first degree (or higher) in computer science or computer engineering and excellent communication skills. Job descriptions are available at www.lmis.gov.jm and interested candidates are being asked by the MLSS to submit resumes to this address.
The ministry said that opportunities are also available in administration, accounting, human resources and office management. For these positions, potential candidates are required to register and post resumes online at www.lmis.gov.jm.
