MOCA arrests 4 in MoBay during major drug find
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Four people were yesterday arrested when agents from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) found large quantities of drugs at two premises in Montego Bay, St James.
MOCA says its operation began at a house in Catherine Mount where 23 parcels, of what they believe is cocaine weighing more than 50 pounds, were found along with US$10,000.
The drug has a street value of nearly US$800,000. A 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested in connecting with the find.
The other two people – a 36-year-old man and 32-year-old woman – were arrested following a search of a second premises said to be owned by the first male suspect.
The MOCA team says that during a search of the property, 45 small parcels of vegetable matter resembling ganja were recovered along with US$13, 575.
