Man shot dead in Manchester

MANDEVILLE, Manchester -- The Manchester police have identified the body of a man found at Bonitto Meadows Saturday morning.

Damain Atkinson, 22- year-old labourer of Bonitto Crescent in the community was discovered with what appeared to be gunshot wounds early Saturday.

Police reports are that at about 12:55am citizens of Bonitto Meadows heard a loud explosion sounding like gunshot.

The police were reportedly summoned and a man’s body Atkinson's body was seen lying face down.

He was rushed to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police report added that when investigators returned to the crime scene at about 6:00am, a .38 pistol with a magazine and five live rounds was found in close proximity.

No motive has yet been established for the killing, police say.
