Bowie and two others were travelling in a motor truck along the Angels main road when they were stopped and searched by the police.

A Browning 9mm pistol with the serial number erased and five 9mm rounds were found.

The men were taken into custody and Brown identified during investigations.

The names of the other men have not been released.

Brown, who escaped from jail in November, is wanted for the murder of Corporal Ransford Durrant in St Ann last month.
