Manchester schoolgirl on murder charge returns to court in March
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A high school student in Manchester, who is on a murder charge for the stabbing death of her elder sister, had her bail extended when she appeared in the Mandeville Children’s Court on Thursday.
She will return to court on March 20.
Allegations are that in June the 17-year-old accused and her 19-year-old sister Kadine Nembhard had a dispute at their home in the community of Somerset during which Nembhard was stabbed with a knife.
She succumbed to her injuries at hospital.
The disagreement reportedly stemmed from the elder sister using a handkerchief belonging to the accused to clean an item of furniture.
Statements from the investigating officer are being awaited, the court was told on Thursday.
The accused is on $300,000 bail.
