Mechanic held with 691 pounds of ganja in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – The Mandeville police are reporting the seizure of several hundred pounds of ganja in Victoria Town, Manchester, on Friday.
Reports are that about 6:50 pm, police officers were conducting vehicle point operations in the area when the driver of a motorcar was signalled to stop. The vehicle and the driver were searched and 71 parcels of ganja, wrapped with brown masking tape, found.
The ganja, which weighs 691 pounds, has an estimated street value of approximately $4.1 million.
The driver, 34-year-old Carlton Fray, mechanic of Gazeland district, Junction in St Elizabeth and Portmore, St Catherine was arrested and charged for illegal possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, trafficking and taking steps to export ganja.
