Murder-sucide in presence of four kids
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — Guyana police are investigating the murdersuicide of a couple yesterday in Port Kaituma, an Amerindian settlement known for the discovery of manganese a few decades ago. Police said Victor Perez, in his late 50s, shot and killed his common-law wife, Pettie, before turning the weapon on himself.
The Guyana-based website, demerarawaves.com said the incident took place in the presence of the couple’s four children, the youngest five years old.
It said that the incident followed a domestic dispute between the couple and is the second fatal domestic conflict matter in Port Kaituma.
Last month, businessman Lenus La Cruz is alleged to have burnt down his house with his wife and four children inside.
La Cruz died at the Georgetown Public Hospital a few days later as a result of severe burns to his body.
