New Zealand 53-4 at lunch v Cricket Board XI
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — New Zealand were restricted to 53 for four at lunch on the first day of their two day practice game against a youthful Jamaica Cricket Board select team at the Trelawny Multipurpose stadium at Florence Hall today.
The first session was interrupted by a passing shower but it was the Jamaicans who held the upper hand as it took the Kiwis batsmen 22 overs to get to 50.
The tourists won the toss and took first strike losing both openers for 17 runs with Peter Fulton going for a duck, caught by Brandon King off Christopher Powell when the score was seven.
The experienced Hamish Rutherford who made 13 was next to go 10 runs later leg before wicket to Brian Buchanan.
After the break for rain, BJ Watling was bowled by Gavon Brown for seven with the score at 42 before Jimmy Neesham was caught in the deep by Fabian Allen off spinner Odean Brown without scoring.
