KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) President, Dr Peter Phillips, today outlined plans to reconnect with voters and the people of Jamaica at large.

Dr Phillips, who was addressing journalists this morning at his West King’s House Road office said he will lead a team of senior party officials on an islandwide listening tour, where the group will visit with and engage residents and organisations with a view to pull together the widest collaborative framework for moving the country forward.

The tour will kick-off in Westmoreland beginning in May and make its way across the island to St Thomas and Portland in the east. ?

According to Dr Phillips, the team will meet with the widest range of civic organisations including the Jamaica Teachers Association, the farmers through the Jamaica Agricultural Society, the Trade Unions, the engineers, the environmentalists, the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, the Chambers of Commerce, amongst others.

 “We seek to better understand the issues our people face in trying to move forward and generate solutions together that would advance the national objectives,” Dr Phillips said.

He explained that PNP chairpersons and secretaries, and constituency leadership will also be included in the process for each parish leg of the tour.

“In each of these parishes, we will also be engaging the local private sector, the churches and other civic organisations as we focus on issues to drive sustained community development – for a Jamaica that works for all,” he said.
