Police maintain strong presence in Waterford
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police are maintaining a strong presence in Waterford, Portmore Vybz Kartel’s hometown community.
Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that the community remains quiet as residents express sadness and confusion at the guilty verdict.
Kartel and three co-accused were convicted for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams committed in August 2011.
“He didn’t kill any high profile person, they should have given him a chance,” an upset Waterford resident said.
“He has his baby mother and his children to support, they should have given him a chance,” another added.
Other residents are insisting that Kartel was set up.
Fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell, also called Shawn Storm; Kahira Jones and André St John were also found guilty.
Shane Williams was found not guilty.
