Police seize two firearms in St Catherine

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are reporting the discovery of two illegal firearms in separate incidents in St Catherine on Thursday.

According to the police, about 9:30 am lawmen from the Central Village Police Station were summoned to the nearby Jose Marti High School where a homemade firearm and six 9mm rounds of ammunition were reportedly found hidden on the school compound.

The second gun was found about 2:30 pm when officers found a submachine gun while conducting an operation at Hellshire Beach in the parish.
