Ras Astor Black resigns from NDM
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Founder and president of the Jamaica Alliance Movement (JAM) Ras Astor Black, has resigned from the National Democratic Movement (NDM).
Black in a news release today said he was very disappointed in the NDM.
“I am very disappointed in the National Democratic Movement and so I am tendering my resignation with immediate effect. I wish the NDM a speedy recovery,” he said.
Black has unsuccessfully contested seats in West Portland, North East St Ann, Eastern Westmoreland, West Kingston, North West St James and North Trelawny on behalf of the movement.
He became a member of the NDM shortly before the February 25 election when he contested the South St James seat.
The resignation comes just two days before the recently announced nomination day for local government elections.
