Reggae Boyz arrive in South Korea
SEOUL, South Korea – The first batch of Reggae Boyz have arrived in South Korea ahead of next Tuesday’s friendly international against the hosts.
The local-based players Ricardo Morris and Upston Edwards of Portmore United, Allan Ottey and Jermaine Woozencroft of Montego Bay United, and Rosario Harriott of Harbour View arrived at the Incheon International Airport just after 4:05 am Saturday morning (2:05 pm Friday evening Jamaica time) after a 13-and-a-half hour flight from New York.
The Jamaican contingent, which includes Head of Delegation Bruce Gaynor, Team Manager Roy Simpson, Head Coach Winfried Schaefer, Assistant Coach Miguel Coley, Physical Trainer Andre Waugh, Team Doctor Ivor O’Connor, Physiotherapist Dialo-Rudolph Brown, Masseurs Garone Brown and Marvin Marc Morgan, and Equipment Manager Normal Stone, had departed Jamaica midday Thursday.
The group was met at the Incheon Airport Saturday morning by Errol Stevens, who plays in Vietnam with Hai Phong.
The remaining members of the 20-man squad, with the exception of Joel Grant, were expected to join the team throughout Saturday at the Mayfield Hotel & Resort, which is about 40 minutes drive from the airport.
OBSERVER ONLINE understands that Grant is slated to arrive in South Korea at earliest next Monday.
