Reno seek second win
FROME, Westmoreland
FRESH off their opening win
over last season’s
semi-finalists Humble Lion in
last weekend’s opening round of
matches in the Red Stripe Premier
League (RSPL), FC Reno will be
gunning to make it two wins in a
row when they host Waterhouse FC
at the Frome Sports Complex on
Sunday starting at 3:30pm.
FC Reno, who just missed relegation last season, were winning their opening game for the first time since the 2011-12 season, and will seek to take advantage of a Waterhouse team that appears to have got off to a slow start and were held to a 0-0 draw by Rivoli.
Meanwhile, Montego Bay United, the back-to-back finalists who will be away to promoted University of the West Indies on Sunday, were beaten 2-0 in their opening game by Portmore United, another promoted team, at the Montego Bay Sports Complex — the fifth-straight season they have failed to win their opening game.
A huge crowd is expected to be on hand to see Reno against Waterhouse, who they beat 3-0 late last season as they scrambled to retain their place. Waterhouse had won the first two meetings 3-1 and 4-0 before losing to Montego Bay United in the semi-finals.
