School principal charged with larceny
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Detectives assigned to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (CTOC) on Tuesday arrested and charged 51-year-old Naomi Cunningham, school principal of Aqueduct Country Club, St Catherine, for breaches of the Larceny Act.
Reports are that on January 13, 2014 a lodgement of 20 cheques valued at approximately J$ 719,180 was credited to the school’s account to which Cunningham had access. It is alleged that she withdrew the money from the account via third party internet transactions, which were made in cheques to several individuals.
On June 9, 2015, C-TOC commenced investigations and Cunningham was subsequently arrested and charged.
She was offered bail in the sum of $100,000 and set to reappear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on January 18, 2016.
The police did not name the school for which Cunningham is principal.
