Traffic on Mandela Highway hampered by water from broken NWC main
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A broken main along the Mandela Highway in St Catherine has resulted in a large volume of water gathering on a section of the roadway.
Motorists travelling along the highway, which usually has a free flow of traffic on Sundays, are advised to proceed with caution, as the water spans both the east- and west-bound lanes.
The National Water Commission (NWC) has advised that it currently has a crew on site, which will be making an assessment and will provide a further update regarding the completion time for repairs.
The NWC also apologised to customers for any inconvenience being caused and said every effort will be made to restore their regular water supply in the shortest possible time.
