CLARENDON, Jamaica – The May Pen police in Clarendon arrested and charged two men after several parcels of ganja were found in the motor car in which they were travelling on Saturday.

Reports are that about 8:50 pm, lawmen were on operation along the York Town main road in the parish when the driver of a Toyota Caldina motor car, with a male passenger, was signalled to stop. The driver complied, the vehicle was searched and two knitted bags with several parcels containing the illicit drug, seized.

The men, Patrick Rayme of Mountainside, St Elizabeth, and Kenneth Wellington of Sevens Road, Clarendon, were subsequently arrested and charged for illegal possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, trafficking ganja, and taking steps to export ganja.

They are to appear before the May Pen Resident Magistrate’s Court today.
