Two foreigners arrested in St Elizabeth drug bust

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Two foreigners are now in police custody following a drug bust in Lewis district, Pedro Plains, St Elizabeth, on Tuesday.

They are 54-year-old Martin Hithey and 69-year-old Andrew Uth, nationals of Ireland and Germany, respectively.

Reports from the Black River police are that about 7:00 am, detectives were on an operation in the area when they searched premises in Lewis district and five ounces of ganja, with an estimated value of J$2000, one ounce of hashish worth about J$15,000, and four grams of cocaine – with an estimated value of J$18,000 – along with a chillum pipe were seized.

Hithey and Uth are scheduled to appear before the Black River Resident Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 11.
