Two killed as motorcycles collide in Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Investigators from the police Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit (AIRU) are now examining evidence to determine the cause of a fatal crash involving two motorcycles on the Red Ground main road in Negril, Westmoreland on Sunday, February 14.
Two people, a motorcyclist and his pillion, were killed in the incident. One of the men has been identified as 43-year-old Rodrick Watson, while the second remains unidentified.
Reports from the Negril Police are that about 8:30 pm, Watson was a pillion aboard a Jude motorcycle being driven by the unidentified man, when it allegedly collided head-on with a Zhujiang motorcycle that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The Zhujiang motorcycle was also carrying two people, with the pillion being a 17-year-old female. They remain hospitalised.
