Warmington promises to complete projects shelved by previous govt
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Minister of State in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Everald Warmington says he will complete two road projects in St Catherine which were requested by former prime ministers but were never done, under the past administration.
Speaking in the Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Warmington said he had taken note that Sherman Terrace/Wellside Lane, and Bigonia Crescent in the Marlemont Housing Scheme in the parish were to be rehabilitated under the Jamaica Infrastructure Development Programme (JIDP), at the request of former prime ministers Bruce Golding and Portia Simpson Miller.
“These were, however, not done. I intend to honour their requests,” Warmington said.
He said, too, that several other projects which were started under JDIP, but were later abandoned by the previous government in 2012, will also be re-started and completed.
