Warmington to tour flood-ravaged Portland
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of State in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation with responsibility for Works, Everald Warmington, is on Tuesday set to tour the roadways in Portland that were recently damaged during heavy rainfall.
He is to be accompanied by chief executive officer of the National Works Agency (NWA), EG Hunter.
The tour party is expected to meet outside the NWA office on West Street (Singer Building) in Port Antonio at 11:00 am and proceed from there to the Rio Grande Valley.
The heavy rain that pelted the parish last weekend and resulted in flooding in some areas, also damaged farm crops and houses.
The tour of the worst affected areas is reportedly part of the government’s response to the damage.
