Wisynco issues second product recall

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The Wisynco Group Limited, local distributors of the General Mills product lines, has listed additional products to its voluntary product recall, which was issued on June 1.

Read: Wisynco issues recall of selected General Mills flour

The company said in a release yesterday that the additional products being recalled are being done so out of an abundance of caution.

Two flavours of Betty Crocker cake mix sold in Jamaica and additional date codes of Gold Medal Flour have been added to General Mills’ previously announced flour recall.

Wisynco said no illnesses reported to date have been connected to the cake mix and no other General Mills or Betty Crocker mixes are included in this recall.

For consumer and public ease of reference, please see below all products under this recall. Only products with the dates of expiration listed are affected by this recall.

The food distribution company said that, to date, there has been no trace of E Coli O121 have been found in any General Mills flour products or in the flour manufacturing facility; and the company has not been contacted directly by any consumer reporting confirmed illnesses related to these products.

Wisynco is however reminding consumers that they are not to consume any raw products made with flour and to wash their hands, work surfaces, and utensils thoroughly after contact with raw dough products or flour, and to never eat raw dough or batter.

Consumers can call Wisynco customer service at 665-9000 for additional information or queries.
