Would-be robber stopped in his tracks
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A would-be robber was yesterday caught trying to break into the National Water Commission’s (NWC) Rock Spring Water Supply Zone Station in the Rockfort area of St Andrew.
He is 26-year-old Bryan Davis, otherwise called “Breads”, of a Raphael Road address in Kingston.
According to a release from NWC, the would-be robber was held by an NWC security team while he was trying to cut his way into the facility after having taken out several louvres from the windows and removed sections of an air conditioning unit and other repair material stored at the location.
The release said he was handed over to the police.
Observer Online has learned that Davis has been charged with simple larceny and is to appear in court on November 7.
The NWC also said that on previous occasions, the Rock Spring Zone Station had been robbed of its perimeter fence, broken into and robbed of refrigerators, de-watering pumps, air-conditioning units, specialised saws, pipes and other equipment valued at over $3 million.
