KC vs JC at Champs
FORMER champions Kingston College and Jamaica College entered the third day locked in a heated battle with just three points separating them 56-53 after five completed finals of the 101st ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys Championships at the national stadium.
Expectations were for the top four to be closely bunched come tomorrow night when the championships will end but so far the to two have distanced themselves from the other 12 schools that have scored points so far.
Calabar High is in third place on 28 points with Munro College and Wolmers Boys tied on 25, Ardenne – 9, Edwin Allen High – 7, St Jago – 6.5, Holmwood Technical and Lennon High – 6 each, Herbert Morrison Technical – 4.5 and Oberlin, Mannings School and Camperdown – 3 each.
Two records have been broken so far in the boys section and one established and one record broken in the girls section.
Eight-time defending champions Holmwood Technical leads the girls section on 38.5 points, ahead of rivals Edwin Allen with 36 and St Jago High with 34 after six finals.
The other schools scoring points so far are: Vere Technical – 27, Manchester High – 18, St Hughes – 14, St Elizabeth Technical and Excelsior – 11 each, Bellefield and Immaculate Conception – seven each, Camperdown – 6, Wolmers Girls – 4, Hydel- 3.5, St Andrew High – 3 and Alpha – 2.
