Four robberies reported in St .Thomas
Four robberies were reported in St Thomas in the five-hour period from 9:30 pm Friday to 2:30 am Saturday, the police have confirmed.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer, Raymond Wilson, said the first occurred at about 9:30 pm on Friday when a lone gunman held up and robbed 45 year-old taxi operator, Henroy Phillips of Prospect in the parish.
The gunman who hired Phillips’ car robbed him of $4,000. Phillips wrestled with the robber causing the car to run off the road. Both men fell from the car and the gunman allegedly fired one shot and fled in the nearby bushes.
Later, at about 1:30 am, three masked men armed with guns went to Thompson Lane in Yallahs where they robbed a man of his cell phone valued at $4,000 and his wallet containing $1,700 along with his driver’s licence and credit card.
Police believe it was the same three men that went to Miami Lane in Heartease where they robbed 42 year-old farmer, Ira Brown of $300. They then went to the DoubleDuece Bar, also in Heartease, where they robbed the proprietor, Dudley McKenzie of $8,000.
