Manchester man being sought for fatal stabbing
A man identified as Oneil Daley of Manchester is being sought by the police following the stabbing death of 22 year-old Christenieve July of Mount Industry, Gordon Town, St Andrew on Sunday.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that at about 11:00 Sunday morning, July and Daley were reportedly at a house in the district when they had an argument. During the dispute a knife was reportedly used to stab July in the chest, killing him on the spot. The body was removed to the morgue for a post-mortem.
The St Andrew North Homicide Team who are investigating are seeking Daley for questioning in connection with July’s death.
Two drug couriers charged
TWO persons were Sunday formally charged in Montego Bay for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Facing charges of possession, dealing in and attempting to export cocaine are:
* Courtney Lee Scott, 28, of Gutters, St James, and
* Calvin U-Roy Dayes, 19, a sales clerk of Chester Castle, Hanover.
The CCN’s St James liaison officer reported that the charges arose out of an incident on Sunday April 21, when Scott and Dayes reportedly checked in to board a flight to London. They were interviewed and later taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where Scott reportedly passed out 100 cocaine pellets weighing 650 grams. Dayes passed out 48 pellets weighing 500 grams.
Woman arrested for ganja
A 28 year-old woman was arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay, St James on Sunday.
Charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja is Ruth Cecile Linton of 122 Main Street, Ocho Rios, St Ann.
The CCN said that at about 11:20 am, Linton reportedly checked in to board a flight destined to Curacao. She was searched and 3.5 kilograms of ganja found in her possession. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
