Man stabbed to death
A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death during a dispute with another man at Grandison Path, Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11 on Monday night, according to a report yesterday from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN).
He has been identified as Damion Malcolm of Grandison Path, Olympic Gardens.
The CCN’s metro officer reported that about 10:45 pm, Malcolm and another man were involved in a dispute at premises at Grandison Path. A fight ensured and a knife was used to stab Malcolm in the side and abdomen.
He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the CCN said.
Meanwhile, the Olympic Gardens Police said are seeking a man known only as “Skankie” who they believed can assist in their investigation.
American arrested for drugs
A 37-year-old American national was arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport in St James Monday.
Charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja is Timothy Ciankwicz of New York, USA.
The CCN’s St James liaison officer reported that about 5:00 pm Ciankwicz was about to board a flight to New York when a sniffer dog alerted police to a narcotic substance in his luggage. His suitcase was searched and ganja weighing five kilograms (11 lb) found. He was subsequently arrested and charged and was scheduled to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Man arrested for ganja
TREVOR James, 40, a farmer of Cardiff Hall was Monday arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act following the seizure of a quantity of ganja at Cardiff Hall, Runaway Bay, St Ann.
The police said that between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm, a police operation was carried out in the Cardiff Hall area. During the operation a house occupied by James was searched and ganja weighing 13.6 kilograms (30 1b) allegedly found. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
