Man stabbed, shot and killed in Rollington Town
DALFRED McKenzie, 37, was yesterday stabbed, then shot and killed along Johnson Terrace in Rollington Town in Kingston.
According to the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN), McKenzie was chased by a group of men into a premises along Johnson Terrace and stabbed in the right shoulder, neck and head. He was shot once in the back. The bullet exited through the right side of the man’s chest. McKenzie died on the spot. One .45 round of ammunition, an expended bullet and a spent shell were taken from the crime scene by the police.
McKenzie’s murder, residents in the area claimed, was a reprisal killing for the death of a Kingston lawyer in Portland last month.
However, the Rollington Town police, who are investigating the killing, could not substantiate the allegations.
The lawyer, Guy Alphanso Jones of 2 Burkley Road in Kingston, was found dead in his silver Nissan Bluebird motor car at Fairy Hill, Portland, on October 29 this year. A 9mm semi-automatic pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition was found in the car with Jones’ body. His driver’s licence and some business cards were found a few yards away from the death scene.
Early yesterday afternoon, residents of 9 Johnson Terrace, the yard in which McKenzie was killed, were seen packing their belongings into a truck and heading out of the area. Most of them were tight-lipped as to the reason why they were moving, but it was apparent that they feared for their lives.
A source at the Rollington Town Police Station told the Observer that McKenzie was allegedly linked to a double murder in St Mary, where an elderly couple were slain, and had fled to Kingston.
