Stressed out businessman fires off 13 shots
KINGSTON business man Rollington Stewart, who said family related stress had led him to fire 13 shots into the air, pleaded guilty to indiscriminately discharging his licensed firearm when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate Court Tuesday.
Stewart, who was arrested and charged by the Portmore police Sunday night, will be sentenced on April 8.
At about 9:15 Sunday night the police were on patrol along 3 West Avenue in the Greater Portmore Housing Scheme when they spotted Stewart, at an open lot, discharging his firearm in the air.
During his arrest, Stewart told lawmen that family problems had contributed to his behaviour.
On Tuesday, Resident Magistrate Lorna Gayle ordered him to seek counseling with family members before returning to court. She then offered him bail in the sum of $50,000.
