Elderly man missing since September 10
COLD SPRING, Westmoreland — It has been over a month since 81 year-old Beresford Christie of Cold Spring District inside Eastern Westmoreland went missing.
His family is now in a panic and is appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
Christie, who lived with his wife, Eunice, reportedly left his home on September 9 to visit his aunt in another section of the community.
But when the elderly man’s aunt saw Eunice on September 10, she said that Christie had left her home at 11:00 am and she had not seen him since.
Family members were alerted and a search party got together to comb the hills but they found no trace of him.
At the time he went missing, Christie was wearing a pair of black pants and a striped shirt along with a black hat and a pair of black shoes. He is of a dark complexion, medium build and stands at about five feet tall.
Meanwhile, the family has criticised the police for the way in which they have handled the case.
But the police have complained that the family members’ behaviour had been intolerable when they visited the station at Bethel Town. According to the lawmen, they were verbally abused and treated with little respect, which made it difficult to gather the requisite information for their investigations.
