The fisherman, identified as Conroy Johnson, alias ‘Oliver’, resided at Sixth Street in Greenwich Town.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that at about 5:30 pm Johnson was riding a bicycle along Marcus Garvey Drive when he was shot.

Residents told police that they saw him running onto the fishing beach where he collapsed.

Businessman kills two women, shoots self

THE Christiana Police have commenced investigations into an apparent double murder and suicide committed at Dunbar district, Manchester, Sunday morning.

The dead persons have been identified as Novie Bent, 40, her niece 29 year-old Nadine James, both bartenders of Dunbar district, and 47 year-old Neville Powell, refrigerator technician of Ballymore district, all in Manchester.

The CCN said that at about 10:15 am, Powell went to Dunbar district to visit an estranged girlfriend, and while there he allegedly accused her aunt and sister of destroying their relationship.

According to the police, Powell, a licensed firearm holder, drew his 9mm Browning pistol. “A struggle ensued between him and his ex-girlfriend, during which shots were fired from the weapon. His ex-girlfriend ran from the room and made an alarm before escaping. Bent went to investigate and was shot by Powell several times,” the CCN reported.

Powell then left the scene and went to a shop some distance away where he confessed his crime to patrons and declared his intention to kill himself. Shortly after, he reportedly shot himself with the same weapon. The bodies were later removed to the morgue.

A man who allegedly aimed a firearm at a team of police was fatally shot and the firearm seized at Rocky Point, Clarendon Sunday night.

The dead man has been identified as 42 year-old Anthony Ricketts, otherwise called “Prince” of Rocky Point.

The CCN said that at about 11:50 pm a police team went to a stage show in the Rocky Point area where it was reported that a man was seen with a firearm.

“On the approach of the police, Ricketts allegedly aimed the gun at one of the lawmen who fired one shot from his service pistol, hitting him. A Luger 9mm pistol serial # P116971 with six rounds of ammunition was taken from him. He was taken to the Lionel Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” the CCN reported.

The police’s Bureau of Special Investigations has since commenced investigations into the incident.

Nineteen year-old Emiele Ricketts, otherwise called “Sponge Bob” of 100 Lane, Red Hills Road, Kingston 19 was shot and killed, and a four year-old girl shot and injured by one of two gunmen at Red Hills Road on Sunday.

According to the CCN, at about 12:45 pm Ricketts went to a wholesale on Red Hills Road. On leaving the shop he was approached by two men, one armed with a gun.

The gunman, police said, opened fire, hitting Ricketts and the four year-old girl who was standing nearby. Both were taken to hospital where Ricketts was pronounced dead and the girl admitted.
