Fighter Jet through to domino final
Trelawny’s Fighter Jet took St James’ Tuff Gong out by 16 points (300-284) last Sunday to secure its place in the final of the Maranjo Security-sponsored Western Jamaica Domino Association’s Premier League.
“Victory was inevitable and it will be inevitable at the final… we came through before and we will come through again,” said Fighter Jet’s captain, Marlon Hamilton.
However, the burgundy-and-gold-clad team to wait until this Sunday when Strike Force from St James’ Barnett Street meets Assassin from Falmouth’s Market Street in the other semi-final of the premier league to see who will emerge victorious to take them on in the final, for which a date is to be set.
Like the defeated Tuff Gong, Assassin will go into Sunday’s match at the Union Street offices of Maranjo Security, on a mission for revenge having lost by 12 points to Strike Force when they met in the mid-season final last November.
Meanwhile Uptown is gearing up to meet Tropical Rhythms in the WJDA’s Division 1 semi-final on April 12, while Star International and Deeside Untouchables are scheduled in the other semi-final on April 19.
The winners of both matches will meet in the final which is scheduled to coincide with that of the Premier league on a date to be decided.
