Hedonism II to crown ‘Ultimate Man’ next month
The 13th annual ‘Ultimate Men of Hedonism’ competition is set to climax on June 6 at Negril’s Hedonism II resort.
This calendar event has become one of the most anticipated among the resort’s activities.
Female visitors in particular travel from all over the world to enjoy the experience.
Last year’s winner was Brendan Coates, a native of Toronto, Canada, who was richly rewarded after he triumphed over the other international finalists.
Coates, who was awarded a six-night stay at the resort as part of his attractive package, is expected to be present to pass on the baton to this year’s winner.
Christopher Clemens, a participant from the United States of America, was awarded second place in that competition.
Rochelle Forbes, public relations manager of Hedonism II, states that “during the ‘Ultimate Men of Hedonism’ competition, the ladies can hoot and holler as they watch male hotties strut their stuff on stage”.
The ‘Ultimate Man of Hedonism’ will this year claim the cover of Hedonism II’s 2010 calendar and will also take home US$2,000.
Forbes also commented that this competition is unique since there are a lot of events where women parade on stage, but by having males placed in that situation it makes for great enjoyment for a female audience.
During the competition, the contestants are judged on their flexed muscles, dance moves, as well as their responses during a question and answer segment.
The judges will also consider on overall looks and stage presence during scoring. The second and third-place winners will each receive a four-night stay at the Hedonism II resort.
Prior to the show, a private pre-judging session will be done and those scores will be carried forward to the final night’s performance.
The ‘Ultimate Men of Hedonism’ showdown is traditionally marked by high dramatic presentation, as the contestants do “almost everything” to outdo each other. Costuming, special music, thematic routines and elements of surprise are all a part of the package.
To get to the finals, contestants have to be selected from photo submissions posted on the Internet. From these submissions, 24 semi-finalists will be selected and then a final 12 decided on for the showdown in Negril. The final night’s show will include a special guest performer and opportunities for audience participation. Following this 13th staging of the show, a dance party will follow featuring the hotel’s resident band.
